Primrose Park - nails inc

Hi! Yesterday I swatched some fab stuff from W7 to show you soon and I recently got my first Ciate polishes so I'll have those to show you soon too!

Today I have the most beautiful nails inc polish to show you!

What I used in todays blog post
Base coat - OPI matte nail envy
Colour coats - nails inc Primrose Park
Top coat - Duri rejuvacote

Duri rejuvacote - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/buydailydeals?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754

This polish is one of the special effects polishes, its a 'mirror metallic' and it really does live up to it's name! The formula for this is great, dries quickly and was opaque in two coats.

Here's a close up so you can see how amazing  this polish is! Honestly my photos can't do this shade justice! I definitely recommend it!

Review of loose glitter from TMart - make your own glitter polish!

Hi! Yesterday I spent all day taking and uploading photographs for a sale I'm having over on my Instagram page (@tarastalonspolish). I hope you had a goo dSunday :)

Today I'm going to review some loose glitter I was sent by TMart. I have used loose glitter before but today I'm using it in a (nearly) mess free way! I hope you like it!

What I used in todays blog post
Base coat - OPI matte nail envy
Colour coats - Simple pleasures grey and pink
Top coat - Duri rejuvacote
Nail art - loose glitter from TMart

Where I bought what I used

This is the glitter I was sent. You get 12 jars of glitter in different colours, the white and the bright pink are my favourites!

I used two coats of this grey polish as a base for my mani. I love this polish! It's hard to find a gorgeous grey but this one is fab, it dries really fast too!

To use the glitter, I mixed it with some clear polish in my mini palette and mixed it with a nail art brush.

I then used the brush to apply it. because any mess is contained on the palette, there's less mess! There's also less waste as you don't need to tip loads of glitter onto your nails to get a full coverage finish!

For this design I applied the glitter all over my index finger. I applied glitter slightly up from my cuticle on my middle finger so you could see the grey at the bottom. On my ring finger I painted a stripe along the middle of my nail and on the tip of my pinkie finger. I only used one coat for this design and got a fab coverage!

Just smooth the glitter out with a coat of topcoat and ta-dah! (That's cuticle oil around my cuticles by the way I'm not just an extremely messy top coater ;))

To do this mani, I used the three pink and one red glitter mixed together to create a custom glitter polish! I used my palette to mix again and used my nail art brush to apply one coat to my nails, it dried really quickly because of all the glitter in it. When it was dry, I touched up any sparser areas with some more of my custom mixed polish.

Here's a close up so you can see how well the glitters work together and how sparkly they are! I used one coat of topcoat to smooth the glitter.

For my third design I used two coats of this incredible pink polish! This is definitely one of my favourite pinks!

I mixed the black glitter in my palette and used a dotting tool to apply dots in various patterns! Because the glitter is pre mixed with clear polish, it's much easier to get sharper circles!

I hope you like my designs! I'll have some more I've done suing this glitter soon!

W7 polish review - linen

Morning! I hope you're having a great weekend! I'm spending mine trying to organise some blog posts so I can show you some of the fab nail polishes and nail art stuff I got recently!

I love W7 polishes so I was really excited to get this gorgeous neutral to try! I'm also super excited that a massive new beauty shop has opened near me with one of the longest walls full of polish and they have the whole W7 makeup and polish range! W7 polishes come in every shade you can imagine, from neutrals to bights, from pastels to neons and they have a fab range of glitters and loose glitters as well so there's plenty to choose from! I have also recently tried the W7 eyeshadow palettes which I love so I'm sure I'll be stocking up on more of their makeup soon!

So, this polish is called linen and it's obviously the perfect name as this is a very neutral, crisp shade. Perfect for work appropriate manis, nail art and sunny days! I used two coats of this polish to get an opaque coverage. It applied really well and dried quickly as all of the W7 polishes I've tried have. I really feel like while W7 are a very affordable brand, the quality is outstanding, lots of work has obviously gone into the formula of the polish and the bottles/brushes are fab too! I bought some mini W7 polishes from TK Maxx and lots of full size ones from various places (Peacocks, Boyes etc) and have been happy with all of them. A couple I've tried are great for stamping too!

I used one coat of top coat over this mani and it was super glossy!

Essence polish 146 'That's what I mint' review

Fridaaaaaaaay! I mean, Hi :)

A couple of days ago I got loads of stuff from Essence which is now in the UK and being stocked at Wilkos. Today I'm going to give you my first review which is of polish 146 'That's what I mint'.

First here's the haul I got......

Before I get onto my review, I'm just going to quickly copy and paste an update about the essence products I posted across my social media. I will do a full review of everything first but here's a quick overview.

Yesterday I posted my huge @essence_cosmetics @essence_uk haul and I got loads of messages about it and asking me to review the products etc so I've used some of them today! I will will do a full review on my blog soon but for those of you who are going to be buying soon, here's my thoughts

Firstly I used the light polish on the top right of this collage and was really impressed with it, the brush was amazing, it applied really well and dried really fast! I then tried to use the paper print (middle and bottom pictures on the left) unfortunately all it did was melt off the polish, I tried it without polish too but it didn't transfer! I tried it with alcohol instead of the solution and over other polishes but it didn't transfer. I searched for tutorials and tips but just found loads of other people having the same issues so I tweeted essence but as yet have had no reply although they have tweeted other stuff since then

I moved into a pink polish (top left) which was so thick I couldn't apply it, I poured some of the polish out and ended up using 35 drops of my Orly thinner to thin it enough to be able to apply it.

I then used a sharpie pen to draw on some designs and applied the essence glow in the dark topcoat (middle right) I tried the glow in the dark effect after 1,2,3 and four coats but nothing happened! It didn't glow! (Bottom right). Again I searched for tips and stuff to see if I was doing anything wrong but again couldn't find anything I did wrong! I didn't tweet essence again burns have contacted them through their website to see if they had any suggestions about what had gone wrong with three of the four products I tried.
I'm really sad that these products weren't very good, aside from one small collection of polishes from a different brand that I now pretend was a bad dream  I've never used nail products I didn't like before and definitely haven't had to give a bad review so I'm not looking forward to writing this blog post!

Ok, so onto the review of this first polish!

As soon as I saw this polish I loved it, it's light, fresh and really pretty! My first impression of the polish was great, the brush is amazing, nice and rounded at the bottom so it's easy to paint near the cuticle and because my nails aren't very wide,  and the brush is quite wide it practically coats my nail in one stroke!

The formula of the polish was perfect, not too thick but not at all runny, it dried really quickly and was opaque in two coats. It also dried to a lovely shiny finish. This picture shows two coats without topcoat.

I really love these Barry M textured polishes for loads of reasons, they apply really well, they're opaque in two coats, the texture hides any mistakes, they dry in about three minutes, you don't need top coat and they last really well because the texture hides any tiny chips and stuff!

Look how pretty this is! It's pink, it's gold, it's iridescent! It's just the prettiest polish!

This is two coats with no top coat. It's amazing! Everyone should own this polish!
