Great British Bake Off mani with Click Fragrance

Hi! I had such a lazy day yesterday just reading and stuff so today, I'll be doing my nails and catching up on some blogging and writing! I hope you have a fab day :)

I was recently contacted by www.clickfragrance.co.uk who very kindly asked me to do a nail art tutorial for the blog section of their website. We decided on a Great British Bake Off themed mani for a few reasons, I love GBBO (and cake in general to be honest - both baking and eating!), also it's a popular show and who wouldn't want to watch people make cake, whilst eating cake AND having cake themed nails!

I've done a cupcake design and a variation on the design - the photos of the finished manis are below and you can see the tutorial on the Click Fragrance website where you can also buy loads of cheap nail polishes to do the designs!

Ciate and Born Pretty Store alien in space mani!

Hi! I've been doing lots of nail art recently, so today I have an alien mani to show you!

What I used in todays blog post
Base coat - OPI matte nail envy
Colour coats - Ciate Starlet
Top coat - Ciate matte top coat
Nail art - TarasTalons holo top coat, neon, white, black and silver acrylic paint and studs

Where I bought what I used
OPI matte nail envy - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/vlnailsupply
Ciate Starlet - In store at The Beauty Outlet
Ciate matte top coat - From the chalkboard mani kit I bought in store at TK Maxx
TarasTalons holo topcoat - Made myself
Acrylic paints - In store at HobbyCraft
Studs - Sent to me to review by Born Pretty Store, please see my disclaimer page for more info

Other places you can get what I used

Liquitex paints - http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk
Born Pretty Store Studs - http://www.bornprettystore.com (use the code TS10K31 to get 10% off)

First I used two coats of 'Starlet' as a background because it's a beautiful purple that reflects other colours!

I then used white acrylic paint to paint an alien head on my middle nail to make the neon paint pop.  I used a holo topcoat on all the other nails as stars. I also used the white and silver acrylic paints to paint on stars.

The green neon paint was the perfect alien colour! I used three coats to cover it completely. While that dried I used the Ciate matte topcoat on all my other nails and used the BPS studs as BIG stars!

I used black paint to paint on the aliens' big eyes and small mouth and top coated that with matte top coat too. As a final touch I used the holo top coat again, I wiped off most of the polish and then swiped it across all of my nails for a little extra sparkle! I also added a little holo around the alien!

Moyra shade 853 review and monkey nail art stickers!

Hi! A little while ago I went to The Monkey Forest and I did a monkey mani for when I went, so today I'm going to show you it!

What I used in todays blog post
Base coat - OPI matte nail envy
Colour coats - Moyra shade 853
Top coat - Duri rejuvacote
Nail art - Monkey stickers

Where I bought what I used
OPI matte nail envy - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/vlnailsupply
Duri rejuvacote - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/buydailydeals?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754
Moyra polish - I won this in a Facebook giveaway
Monkey stickers - I found them on eBay

Other places you can get what I used

Duri rejuvacote - http://www.duricosmetics.com/duri-cosmetics-rejuvacote-05-05.html
Moyra polish - http://www.moyra-shop.co.uk

I won the Moyra collection of textured/sand polishes in a Facebook giveaway and this is the first one I tried. It applied really well and dried really quickly but unfortunately it didn't last very well, I had chips in it within a few hours. As it's a textured polish it was easy to touch up the chipped areas but it's not the best choice for a long lasting mani for me. However different polishes will dry/last differently on different people so as these polishes are only around £3 I'd definitely recommend trying them to see if they last well on you!

This is two coats with no topcoat.

Here's a close up so you can see the fab texture!

On my ring fingers, I used these cute monkey stickers and sealed them with a coat of topcoat which obviously did smooth out the texture but it also kept my monkeys on :)

I applied base coat and two coats of TarasTalons holo polish on all of my nails.

I then applied two coats of Quirk 'Sharkie' on my middle and pinkie nails.

On my index finger I used grey paint mixed with a little light blue and painted a round/rounded fat triangle on the bottom of my nail. I then used the black paint to paint a smaller one in the middle. I also used the black paint to dot on two eyes. I used white paint to paint on long jagged teeth. I then used red paint to paint on some spatters of blood!

On my ring finger, I painted black paint over my nail. I then used white paint to paint on long jagged teeth and red to dot on blood spatter!

I finished the whole mani with a coat of top coat!
