FLASH POST! OPI I don't give a Rotterdam

Hi! I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend! I spent mine writing, polish shopping and trying to find somewhere to store my polish shopping ;)

I've been really busy this weekend and with the TarasTalons relaunch happening soon along with lots of other projects I'm doing and lots happening for me personally, I've decided to introduce flash posts! These will be swatches or simple nail art that I can do a short post about while still showing you something amazing! Something I can write on my super busy days and you can read on yours :)

Todays swatch is OPI I don't give a Rotterdam which I found in a new beauty shop that has opened near me and I fell in love with immediately! It's a gorgeous grey with a blue undertone and gold shimmer! What's not to love!

This shows two coats with a top coat of Duri rejuvacote. It's a gorgeous opaque polish which dries quite fast and will go with any outfit for any occasion, so it's definitely a must have for me!

Wedding manis using W7 polishes

Morning! I hope you're having a great weekend!

Autumn/Winter weddings are getting more and more popular so today. I'm going to show you two manis which are perfect for a weddings weather you're the bride, bridesmaid or a guest!

What I used in todays blog post
Base coat - OPI matte nail envy
Colour coats - W7 polishes in 'Buff' and 'Silk'
Top coat - Duri rejuvacote
Nail art - Floral stickers and three sizes of half pearls

Where I bought what I used
OPI matte nail envy - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/vlnailsupply
Duri rejuvacote - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/buydailydeals?_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754

Duri rejuvacote - http://www.duricosmetics.com/duri-cosmetics-rejuvacote-05-05.html
W7 Polishes - http://www.w7cosmetics.co.uk

This first mani is using W7's Buff as a base. It's a gorgeous dark neutral, perfect for a work appropriate mani that can easily have some nail art added to it to turn it into a wedding weekend mani! This polish was opaque in one coat but slightly streaky, so I've used two coats to ensure the finish is opaque and smooth. I used some cute floral stickers to give it  'weddingy' finish. I've placed the stickers at the top, base and middle of my nails so you can see how each one looks.

This second design is my favourite! I used three coats of W7 'Silk' to get an opaque, nude base and then working one nail at a time, I applied top coat and applies some cute pearls. I used the largest pearls at the base of the nail, then the medium ones and I finished with a tiny one at the tip of my nail. If you have longer nails, you could always use more or space them out. If you have shorter nails, you could use less or space them closer together, you could even just cover an accent finger in the teeny pearls!

Which one do you like best?

Great British Bake Off mani with Click Fragrance

Hi! I had such a lazy day yesterday just reading and stuff so today, I'll be doing my nails and catching up on some blogging and writing! I hope you have a fab day :)

I was recently contacted by www.clickfragrance.co.uk who very kindly asked me to do a nail art tutorial for the blog section of their website. We decided on a Great British Bake Off themed mani for a few reasons, I love GBBO (and cake in general to be honest - both baking and eating!), also it's a popular show and who wouldn't want to watch people make cake, whilst eating cake AND having cake themed nails!

I've done a cupcake design and a variation on the design - the photos of the finished manis are below and you can see the tutorial on the Click Fragrance website (http://www.clickfragrance.co.uk/blog/hints-and-tips/great-british-bake-off-nail-art.html) where you can also buy loads of cheap nail polishes to do the designs!

Ciate starlet and matte topcoathttp://www.ciate.co.uk
Liquitex paints - http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk
Born Pretty Store Studs - http://www.bornprettystore.com/10pcs15pcs-striped-metallic-stud-colorful-mini-round-oval-nail-decoration-p-15229.html (use the code TS10K31 to get 10% off)

First I used two coats of 'Starlet' as a background because it's a beautiful purple that reflects other colours!

I then used white acrylic paint to paint an alien head on my middle nail to make the neon paint pop.  I used a holo topcoat on all the other nails as stars. I also used the white and silver acrylic paints to paint on stars.

The green neon paint was the perfect alien colour! I used three coats to cover it completely. While that dried I used the Ciate matte topcoat on all my other nails and used the BPS studs as BIG stars!

I used black paint to paint on the aliens' big eyes and small mouth and top coated that with matte top coat too. As a final touch I used the holo top coat again, I wiped off most of the polish and then swiped it across all of my nails for a little extra sparkle! I also added a little holo around the alien!
